Proposed renovations at Lena-Winslow Schools
On the November 4th ballot, there will be a referendum question that could permit the school to do some upgrades to the facilities. We encourage our community members to get informed and vote! There are two links below that will help voters understand the what the proposal includes and the costs associated with it. There will not be an increase in a property owners taxes.
50th Homecoming for Lena-Winslow High School

The 50th anniversary of the first homecoming in Lena-Winslow history will be celebrated.....
School Board Seats up for Election
Lena-Winslow CUSD #202 will have three school board seats to be filled at the April 7, 2015 Consolidated Election. The 3 seats are 4-year terms expiring in April, 2019. Nominating petitions can be circulated starting September 23, 2014. The filing period is December 15 - December 22, 2014.****New this election: Candidates must file their nominating petitions at the county clerk's office.****

Lena-Winslow High School Library is excited to host the upcoming Fall Scholastic Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed this way! The fair is taking place in the High School Library during the week of September 29 - October 3. It will be open from 7:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. If you can’t make the book fair, you can also help support our high school library by shopping online. All orders ship free to Lena-Winslow High School. The online fair is available September 24 - October 10th.

The Le-Win Cheerleaders are sponsoring MANNY'S TACO NIGHT on Tuesday, October 7th from 5-8pm in the HS Cafeteria. 3 tacos and a soft drink for $6.00. See any LWHS Cheerleader for tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Mini-Cheer Camp 2014-REMINDER-Forms due 9/24!

The Le-Win HS cheerleaders will be hosting a football mini-cheer camp for GRADES 1st-5th, Sept. 29th-Oct 2nd in the Le-Win Elementary school gymnasium after school-5:00pm. The cheer camp participants will perform at half-time of the JV game on Fri. October 3rd.
Registration and $30 fee due to Elementary office by Wednesday, Sept. 24.

High School Yearbooks Are In
High school yearbooks can be picked up in the high school office from 7:30 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. Extra yearbooks are available to be purchased ($60) if you did not pre-order one, quantities limited.

Le-win students learn more about the importance of agriculture through the Ag in the Classroom programs.

Cyclists from IAITC traveled throughout our region to spread the message and support the Ag in the Classroom program. Attached is a video which includes the assembly at Lena-Winslow Elementary School.
3rd Annual Veterans' day Fireworks donations accepted

The high school will be collecting for the 3rd Annual Veterans' Day Fireworks that will take place 11/11/14 tonight at the high school football game. Please give to help the high school honor our veterans in a special way.
Bring your own ear buds program:

This year we are encouraging students to bring and use their own earbuds to use in class. Earbuds can easily be kept in the students pocket or folder and used in class when researching topics on the web. They take up less space than over the head phones and are often inexpensive. Earbuds are often included with a new cell phone, but may not always be used...
